I believe about sixty percent of my daily calories some from eating raw foods--foods such as salad and salad mixes, including lettuce and herb mixes from the supermarket to similar kinds of mixes from our local farmer's market, which I enjoy both for the freshness and because they are locally grown.
I prefer natural carrots to the packaged "baby" carrots, which someone told me are bleached.I love all raw vegetables that are meant to be consumed raw--so the non-raw content would include potatoes.I like all kinds of fruit like bananas, mangoes, peaches, pineapples, guavas, persimmons, grapes, blueberries, raspberries, tangerines, oranges, apples, strawberries, and cherimoya, just to name a few. The naturally-occurring sugars in fruits surely puts my raw-food consumption to over fifty percent. I consume some of my meals completely of raw things like fruit and vegetables, with raw nuts like almonds and walnuts being the protein part.
I am happy with the amount of raw food I consume because I do enjoy things like barbequed meats and vegetables, including shish kabobs and steaks and fish. But I wouldn't mind eating a raw-only meal if that were what is served. I feel healthy eating raw foods, such as salad, because while I can get full eating these foods,I don't stay full for an excessive amount of time, and that is important when you have activities during the day. I feel the nutrients are preserved when food is raw or not processed in any way. I like not using overly processed foods because I like knowing what ingredients are in them.
